• Vacuolar degeneration and lymphocytosis

  Follicular plugging (especially discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE))

Lupus Band test of lesional OR non-lesional skin (for DIF)

• Granular > other patterns deposition of IgG/IgM > IgA +/- complement
• In >3/4 of SLE patients in sun-exposed areas and >1/2 of SLE patients in sun-protected areas
• Correlates with SLE
