Biphasic cutaneous amyloidosis

A term that encompasses macular amyloidosis and lichen amyloidosis (papular), which are considered part of the same disease spectrum. They are characterized by amyloid deposition limited to the upper dermis, particularly the papillary dermis.
Superficial perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltrate
Presence of melanophages in the dermis
An amorphous, eosinophilic, fissured substance is observed in the papillary dermis
The epidermis may become reactive over time and with scratching, showing: orthohyperkeratosis, hypergranulosis and acanthosis
Biphasic cutaneous amyloidosis

The observed substance stains positive with crystal violet (purple color)
