Leukemia cutis
LEGEND
This is a case of leukemia cutis in a patient with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
The epidermis is normal, with the presence of a Grenz zone.
Significant hemorrhage is often observed in the specimen, secondary to thrombocytopenia associated with AML; extravasated red blood cells (RBCs) are seen.

The infiltrate consists of atypical, large, immature myeloid cells.

Immunohistochemical findings depend on the type of leukemia.
In this case, myeloperoxidase is positive, indicating the presence of immature myeloid cells.
