Subepidermal blister with a viable roof and pauci-inflammatory pattern (very mild inflammation)
Hyaline deposits (pale pink and homogeneous) around blood vessels
Caterpillar bodies: characterized by eosinophilic material arranged in a linear pattern originating from the basement membrane. When located beneath the blister roof, it resembles a caterpillar
This finding is not specific to porphyria
