Benign adnexal tumor with sebaceous differentiation

Primarily composed of mature sebocytes

Unlike sebaceous hyperplasia, the sebaceous glands are not associated with a pilosebaceous unit (hair follicle) and may connect directly to the epidermis

Unlike sebaceoma, less than 50% basaloid cells are present

Sebaceous adenoma

Composed of less than 50% basaloid cells

No cellular atypia or mitotic figures

Cells appear benign
