Necrobiosis lipoidica

LEGEND

Palisading (elongated histiocytes with nuclei aligned parallel to one another) is oriented parallel to the epidermis.

The epidermis may be normal, atrophic, or ulcerated.

  • Extensive necrobiosis extending into the hypodermis, with palisading histiocytes forming layered arrangements between zones of necrobiosis, resembling the appearance of lasagna.
